It’s BACK and i’m so glad to be participating in Jz’s Great Cookie Extravaganza! i’m not much of a baker, or a cook for that matter, but even i can come up with a little something for the holidays! This easy recipe makes a great gift for the “hard-to-buy-for” people on my list, and is nice to have on hand for the holidays. It’s delicious over ice cream or in coffee.
Irish Creme
“Irish whiskey mixed with cream and sugar with hints of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and almond. Will keep for 2 months if refrigerated.”
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 2/3 cups Irish whiskey
- 1 teaspoon instant coffee granules
- 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
In a blender, combine heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, Irish whiskey, instant coffee, chocolate syrup, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Blend on high for 20 to 30 seconds. Store in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator. Shake well before serving.
You can also include Irish Cream in a variety of other desserts: Irish Cream Chocolate Cheesecake, Irish Cream Brownies, Irish Cream Sugar Cookies… The list goes on and on. This site offers a good sample of tasty treats. (Obviously, if you’re living an alcohol-free life, none of these are a good idea.)
For example – Irish Cream Chocolate Mousse
{Full Disclosure: i haven’t made any of these things except the Irish Cream yet, i’m just thinking they’d be fabulous.}
So thanks for stopping by – I hope you enjoy the pictures and thinking about the goodies pictured here! Now here’s the list of other wonderful people for you to go visit.
Oh my…..this just got added to my must try list…both for me and gifts. Thanks and my friends thank you also.

My dad would have loved your Irish Creme recipe, Olivia. I’m not a big whiskey drinker but will have to pass this recipe on to both of my sons. I’m sure they’ll love it. Thanks for sharing.

I wasn’t going to make any aperitifs this year. I made Limoncello last year and Kahlua the year before. You’ve messed with my plan Olivia! I HAVE to have, MUST have, that fudge. MMmmmm. I’ll just sit over hre drooling until I get some. 🙂
