Anniversaries and Holidays

It’s Mother’s Day in the US, so

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and step-mothers! 🎉

Happy Mother’s Day to all the “You were like a mother to me” people! 🎈

Originally intended to be a day that mothers came together to protest war and advocate for peace, it has become another Hallmark holiday where you’re expected to give gifts to people who may or may not appreciate them, and who you may or may not feel particularly appreciative of in the first place. I just want to acknowledge that, I won’t dwell on it today.

I am grateful for my own mother, and for all of the people who helped raise me, grateful for people who even now give me a bit of mothering.

I hope that you’re celebrating and feeling appreciated/appreciating wherever you are. (And if you’re not feeling it, it’s ok. It really is just a Hallmark holiday.)

Moving on to Anniversaries – yesterday was my 16th anniversary of blogging on WordPress! My blogs have been my journal, my therapist (thanks to youall) my way to process my submission, and my connection to beautifully diverse, endlessly fascinating, and lovable community of like-minded people.

I have been on an adventure of sorts this week and will have more to write on that later. Until then… 🥰

  1. Hello, dear one! First, let me wish you a happy and joyful Mother’s Day😊 You have certainly given me a bit of mothering (in addition to friendship) over the years, for which I feel very grateful. But also, congratulations on 16 years of blogging!!! As you know, your blog is one of my favorites and I personally get so much out of you sharing yourself with your readers. I love following you on your journey and being privy to some of your thoughts and experiences (and your naughty fiction when you write it 😘). XOXO

    • Thank you, my friend! I’m glad that my bit of mothering has been good! And thanks for the congratulations! I always appreciate your comments, so there’s that. I’m hoping to do more blogging again soon – and write some fiction! So thanks for the encouraging words. 💜💜💜
