It’s My Birthday

I’m 68 years old today. I have no idea how I got this old.

I can still remember thinking that by the time I was this old, I’d practically be dead. And yet – I’m not!!

So Happy Birthday to me! We’re doing the family celebration this weekend, but Sir and I will celebrate tonight, and that’s something to look forward to.

In two years, I’ll retire and move somewhere that’s warm all the time, close to the beach, where I can live on my retirement income and won’t need to work to survive. But in the meantime, it’s almost spring here and I’m healthy and have people I love who love me back and work that matters. Lots of reason to celebrate.

    Sorry for not being around much. I’ve read many of your recent posts but didn’t comment. Many things that happened to you hit too close to home, and I didn’t wish my perspective to influence yours.
    I’m glad that you’re in a good place right now. That’s what matters the most.

I admire your resilience, I admire how you lean into acceptance, and I admire the way you communicate- openly, honestly, and directly. I am grateful that we met in this space, grateful for the way our journeys have overlapped at times, and grateful to be able to call you a friend. I hope that today is a good day in your life, and that maintenance day (well, hopefully there is a birthday spanking in there too) is exactly what you need it to be.       I’m so glad we met too! It is interesting how our paths seem to come together and intersect at different points, in different ways. I appreciate our connection so much and am grateful for our friendship.
