On the Eve…

For children, and even some adults, Christmas Eve sits on the verge of joy.

“Well,” said Pooh, “what I like best,” and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn’t know what it was called.”
― A. A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh

“..that sanguine expectation of happiness which is happiness itself”

– Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility

“When I think something nice is going to happen I seem to fly right up on the wings of anticipation; and then the first thing I realize I drop down to earth with a thud. But really, Marilla, the flying part is glorious as long as it lasts…it’s like soaring through a sunset. I think it almost pays for the thud.”
― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Avonlea

Today is all of that. I hope you’re enjoying… wherever you are, whatever you’re doing…

  1. Onn yes, the anticipation is one of the best parts. We are now into Christmas morning here and sadly, the anticipation is over. Love the quotes.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and wonderful holiday season.

    Love,

    Roz
