Let’s start with a little Hank Williams… “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry.” That’s my theme song for tonight, and we’ll see where I wander from here.
Moving to “I’ll Fly Away,” with Gillian Welch and Alison Krauss… No, I don’t actually think I’m headed for God’s Celestial Shore, I just like the idea of flying away.
And another Allison Kraus from the same movie – “Down to the River” to Pray. The haunting melody and voices help lift me out of myself. And for sure, I need to be lifted out of myself at the moment.
Just wandering around now. Here’s Ellzabeth Cotton doing an instrumental version of “In the Sweet Bye and Bye.”
Sister Rosetta Tharpe playing “This Train.” You don’t have to be Christian to love the feel of gospel music. Her voice and the bluesy rhythm are such a reminder of all the suffering people who survive with a little bit hope.
And just wrapping up with the mellow tones of Sam Cooke, singing, “This Little Light of Mine.”
Yes, I feel better. You know, life is just hard sometimes. Even if my problems look small, it doesn’t mean they’re not hard. We all suffer, that’s just part of being human. Common humanity. We’re all in this together.

Great playlist Olivia. Music has such soothing powers, glad you feel a bit better.
